This take-down Model 1892 Winchester lever action rifle was manufactured by Armi Sport for Cimarron Firearms and is chambered in .45 Colt. The rifle is stocked in walnut, and trimmed in color case hardened furniture with a blued barrel. This rifle comes with the factory paperwork and box. We have this rifle on display, ready for same day shipment on receipt of your funds, and your favorite dealer's signed FFL copy. We must deliver to a Minnesota resident, or to a licensed dealer in any other state. This rifle weighs 7.0 pounds and has a trigger reach of 12-3/4" for today's average size shooter.
The tapered octagon 24-1/4" barrel is fitted with a blued steel open rear sight, with elevator adjustment. The front sight is a factory mounted white bead sight. The right diagonal flat of the barrel is marked MANUFACTURED FOR / CIMARRON REPEATING ARMS COMPANY / FREDERICKSBURG, TEXAS in three lines. The top flat is marked 45 COLT and the left diagonal flat is marked ARMI SPORT ITALY. The bore is bright and has been well maintained. The factory bluing is in excellent condition.
This rifle is chambered in .45 Colt. Cartridge cases are readily available from a variety of sources. It may be wise to buy a quantity of cases, all at the same time, from the same lot, for uniformity. We recommend ordering a least 100 cases, and perhaps 200, depending on your reloading schedule. Track can supply the mold, shell holder, loading dies, bullet lubricant, loading press, sizing dies, and black powder.
The walnut stock is oil finished to a medium brown, which nicely compliments the muted color case hardened action and furniture. The stock does not show any signs of use and is in excellent condition. The color case hardened crescent buttplate securely engages your shoulder. The forend cap is also color case hardened and is a nice touch. This is a take-down model, simply lift up the small hand lever and use it to unscrew the magazine tube. This allows the barrel and forearm to be unscrewed and removed.
The color case-hardened action has a nice mottled pattern. The loading gate shows little use, and is normally one of the earliest areas to display wear. The tang of the action is stamped MOEDEL 1892 / CIMARRON / TRADEMARK in three lines. The action is smooth and locks up tight.
This 1892 rifle comes with the factory box and paperwork. It has a bright bore and appears to have seen very little use. The dandy .45 Long Colt cartridge is a favorite choice for events in our area, since the 250 grain bullet has a bit more knock down power than the 44-40 and other similar cartridges.
