The horn is scrimshaw engraved with a patriotic verse The Time Is Now To Stand Up Fight Rifle In Hand And Horn On My Side : Freedom & Liberty along with a 1776 date, deer, Papel cross, and panel to engrave a name. The horn measures 14" around the outside curve from the tip to the end of the wood base. A iron staple is fitted to the base of the horn. Small iron pegs secure the base to the horn. A turned wooden stopper is fitted and secured with a woven lanyard.
