This scrimshawed flat powder horn has a very striking geometric diamond pattern with dimple and crossed lines. It has the same design on both sides, and a scalloped design along the inside curve. The horn has a brown patina on the body and tip. The neck of the horn has a groove to secure a strap, and a iron staple is mounted in the base. The horn measures 9-3/4" around the outside curve from the tip to the end of the wood base. Small wood pegs secure the base to the horn. A turned wooden stopper is fitted and secured with a lanyard to prevent loss.
