This powder horn is finished with a warm brown patina on the body and fades to a darker brown tip. The tip has a raised lip, and the neck has a raised rings to secure a strap. The horn is scrimshaw engraved with a hunter and dog chasing a buck deer, and a banner to put a name. The horn measures 12" around the outside curve from the tip to the end of the wood base. A iron staple is fitted to the base of the horn. Small iron pegs secure the base to the horn. A turned wooden stopper is fitted and secured with a woven lanyard.
