In used condition, this small rifle has only a few handling marks on the stock. This rifle is very light weight at only 5.4 pounds, ideal game hunting or for a youngster when loaded with a modest charge. The flat rubber buttplate is ribbed for firm grip. Fitted with sling swivels, for your quick detachable mounts, the stock appears to be beech finished as walnut.

The .50 caliber 24" barrel is rifled with a 1 in 48" twist. We recommend a .490" diameter ball, .015" thick patch, over a modest charge of black powder. The barrel is fitted with a flat top rear sight dovetailed 6-1/2" ahead of the breech. A blued steel blade front sight is dovetailed behind the muzzle. The rifle is fitted with a 3/8" brown delrin with 10-32 threads for loading and cleaning accessories.

The small percussion lock is finished to a deep blue, matching the barrel and furniture. The lock appears to be in good working order. The single trigger is fitted to a large bow triggerguard, to allow the use of gloved fingers during cold weather hunting. The buttstock and forearm are fitted with mounts for quick detachable sling swivel mounts. The forward swivel mount threads into the bottom of the underlug. To dismount the barrel remove the ramrod, put the lock at half cock, remove the post and "U" shaped washer. The barrel can be lifted from the muzzle to disengage the the hooked breech.

Trigger reach is 14" for an adult male. Easily shortened, the buttplate end is flat, where it mates the buttplate. Any gun shop that installs shotgun recoil pads can remove this buttplate, shorten it to fit your child, and dress the edge of the rubber buttplate to match the wood. However, it may be wise to allow a child to grow to fit the rifle, instead. Lightly used, order this handy little rifle today!
